Promoting reading habits in our school - ENSINUS ETP/ INETE

 






We started to promote afternoon talks in our library regarding reading habits, cultural interests, to engage students, teachers and other staff in positive aspects of our lives. Reading is not the primary issue but along the way someone share a text, present a good moment reading or discussing a good movie that led them to the book behind the screen.

This coming week we will do our 3rd and 4th talks. One is dedicated to manga, the Japanese cartoons, and the other to books that they want to read. 

It has been quite interesting to promote these moments. We never know beforehand who will turn up, but the joy in their eyes, the feeling go wholeness has been a really interesting discovery and perception.

This might seem strange, but our students are over 16 years and ours is a vocational school. Usually, they say they don't like reading. I hope we are about to change it.

Our Town Hall and our school work together in some activities to promote the importance of water in our daily lives and in our village. Following these ideas, our IES participates in a project to teach students and the whole community the importance of saving water, a sensible use, how it is obtained and the essential role it has in our lives. 8M International Women's Day (IES Adeje)

 8 M International Women's Day👏 Our IES celebrated this date in different ways:  1ºESO and 3° ESO B have created biographies about different women who are great athletes. Students have selected the girl they wanted to investigate about. Students during this week will present to the rest of the group their projects. In Language students discovered great writers and their stories, lives, messages... As ambassador high school of the European Parliament 4º ESO students highlighted the active role of women as rulers of Europe. In Baccalaureate students printed relevant pictures drawn by women. Our aim is to make their work visible, giving them the recognition they deserve.  More women here

THE ROAD TO EQUALITY This March 8, International Women's Day, we want to highlight the importance of care for the development and well-being of citizens. The pandemic has exposed the crisis of the current care model, and that it does not work without the work of thousands of women. Care is essential to sustain life, but it is often free, invisible, precarious and feminized.
